Today, we introduced the students to the popular business platform, LinkedIn. To make it easier to understand, we drew parallels to social media sites and explained similarities and differences. After elaborating on the platform basics, we emphasized the crucialness of building a network and staying connected to those who can play a role in one's career advancement. To enhance memorability and participation among the students, we incorporated an interactive Kahoot. After completing the game, we briefly talked about how to correspond with clientele, work associates, etc. Then, we gave the students an opportunity to apply what they learned through a small activity where we asked them to fix the grammar and tone of an informal email. In all, we aimed to showcase a platform that will be instrumental in network-building and helped develop their professional toolkit.
