We were beyond ecstatic to kickstart our year at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Athens this week!
At our meetings this week, we made sure the students knew our organization's purpose: to serve, teach, and mentor.
As part of our introductions, we played Q&A games with the students and learned about their career interests, and encouraged them to share ideas for lesson plans. We also made name placards and decorated them with fun and vibrant colors (see below)!
A lot of the students were curious about topics such as entrepreneurship, the life of a student-athlete, sports management, and the stock market. We hope to explore all of these topics in our upcoming meetings and bridge the knowledge gaps, accomplishing our club's mission of educating beyond the classroom!
